Omega Labyrinth Life is roguelike/VN game released for the Switch on August 1st 2019. Not to be confused with Labyrinth Life, which is the same game but with most of the horniness removed for the PS4. They even removed the Omega sign from the title, I guess because it looked too much like boobs. This game, like so many others, is horny.

The story is simple enough. You play Hinata Akatsuki, a new student at a prestigious all-girls school that is prided on its garden, and it's holy cave full of monsters. Shortly after you arrive, the garden dies, you are blamed, and you have to set off to renew the garden section by section by defeating monsters in the Holy Cave. Defeating monsters also causes your boobs to expand, as Omega Power (the power that monsters hold) is stored, naturally, in the chest.

The school acts as a hub world. It's cute and easy to navigate. You can change the palette for the school too. I made my school a spooky Halloween school which was super cute. You can also do things like Skill Awakening, Hot Springs, Size-Up, (which I'll get into in the Sexy Parts section of this review) and 'side quests' which are less quests, and more requests to bring things back from the holy cave, or grow certain things in the garden. The gardening seemed like it was going to be very tedious at first, but once you finish the tutorial missions, the process becomes very automatic. The only issues I have with gardening after that point is that towards the end game, some changes to the hub world cause a fair bit of lag when gardening. By then it's not really necessary though.

The dungeon sections of the game are a Roguelike (or Roguelite? who knows, these words barely have meaning anymore) in which you wander around, fight monsters in turn based combat, get loot, and get stacked. The palettes are slightly different depending on the dungeon you're in (basically chapters in the story), but for the most part it's pretty samey, and has many of the same enemies in each. Like many roguelikes, when you die, you lose your stuff. Luckily you only lose the things you were holding (stuff you stored in your locker back at the school will still be available) and your accumulated Omega Power, which is annoying, but easy to get back. If you avoid the setbacks from dying, it's pretty easy to glide through most of the dungeons. Every once in a while a strong monster can come around and 1HK you, which never feels fair in this game.

The story sections of the game are handled in a Visual Novel style that works pretty well. It's also fully voiced (in Japanese) which is really impressive considering there's actually a fair bit of dialogue in this game.

So that's an overview of the game and most of it's mechanics, now it's time for the fun part.

• Story Text Implied Horny Scenes

  Every character in this game is horny as hell and they're all in love with each other.

• Bugcatching

  Every once it a while, Flora (the garden spirit) will get covered in bugs! The only polite thing to do is the poke them until they jump off of her.

• Breast Expansion in Holy Caves

  As you kill monsters, your characters breasts will grow. Once they hit a certain threshold (it's different for each character) they will be tits out blouse open. This mechanic also carries over to the other breast-related things you may come accross in the dungeon. Once you hit Z Cup (which is just 1 past L for some reason) things get really interesting.

• Hot Spring

  Hot Springs exist randomly in dungeons, as well as back in the hub world. Taking a dip in the hotspring will give you various boosts, and restore your health. As you'd expect, the images are slightly different based on the bathing character's current cup size.

• Size Up

  While in a dungeon, you may come accross an item that is unidentified. Naturally instead of taking it to Deckard Cain, you just put it in between your tits, move them around with the joysticks, until the item reveals itself.

• Tit for Tat

  This is just bog standard rock paper scissors, except you decide your move by the position you hold your breasts. Winning can get you a lot of omega power. Losing doesn't really hurt you.

Horniest Part

• Character Awakening

To upgrade your characters' skills, you perform awakening. This is basically like those old flash games where you click the right spot on the anime girl in order to get her fully aroused, except in this version they're much less picky about where you click them. When you get them to the climax the scene gets a little sexier, and the girl gets more naked (in most cases it's only slightly more naked, but for some reason Mei's clothes just explode off her body at the slightest provocation). Then you harvest their juices, which are used to water the flowers naturally. Honorable mention to the Breast Expansion mechanic simply because of how cool it is that they encorporated it into so many other scenes.

Additional things of note

This beyond the fanservicy pseudo lesbian mishaps that are common in media targeted towards young men, there is beyond a shadow of a doubt 1 canonically queer character, and she is also the best character. Yurika.

I liked this game a lot. Sure it's horny and breast focused, two things I look for in any game, but it's also legitimately fun to play. Most of the slow parts are skip-able, and the number of time wasting is pretty low. I probably won't play it again however, because it's fairly repetitive, and the extra challenge dungeons don't seem to give you anything very good, and they aren't particularly fun.
