SaiIn Rhythm is a visual novel with rhythm game elements blended in. It was developed by GTai and GentleDriver, and published to steam by GTai in December of 2021. Note that SaiIn doesn't have an L in it, that's a capital 'i'. I had a slightly hard time finding this game in steam because I kept reading the name as 'SAILN Rhythm', which yields no results in the steam store. Hell maybe I should just start linking the games in the review, but I'm always worried that might be construed as me having some sort of partnership with the devs. But I think I've been at this long enough for you all to know that the only money I make here is from Patreon. On the morn of your 30th year as a kissless virgin, the prophecy is fulfilled. You become a wizard! Alright not exactly that, you get powers from heaven that allow you to hypnotize and sleep with anyone you desire. Once you're done they'll never remember what happened. All this in an attempt to solve declining birth rates. Problematic? Absolutely. But as I've mentioned in past reviews, and initially in my review of Monster Girl Breeder, fiction can be a safe place to explore socially unsavory things, such as sexual assault (known as ravishment or consentual non-consent in the kink community).

There are four scenes in total in SaiIn Rhythm. The first consisting of a random gyaru (gal) off the street. I'm not positive but I think this may be the first game I've played for this site that includes a girl with the gyaru style. This first encounter is while your hypnotizing skills are still developing, and for that reason it's a little uncomfortable. I do kind of appreciate that this game puts the emotionally challenging parts of this game more towards the beginning so that you kind of know what you're getting into. It's definitely not something for everybody, including me.

As the days go on you become more confident in your abilities. You sleep with your next door neighbor's super stacked wife, a demon, and then finally the angel that gave you your powers. But only after she's been completely bimbofied, which is always a big hit with me personally.

The story is short and kind of gross, so for me the most fun part was the rhythm sections. As I've mentioned in past reviews, I really love rhythm games, and have since my childhood days playing DDR at the movie theater. The idea here is pretty unique, and while it can be a little clunky, I enjoyed how different it was from many other rhythm games I've played. You control a heart (which reminded me a little of Undertale) and you have to press directions in time as little bars move toward you. On top of this there are multiple tracks that spawn that you must move to at certain times. This part felt a little weird because it is visually very difficult to make out exactly when you're supposed to switch tracks, especially when you're switching multiple times in rapid succession. The final (third) song mixes things up in a pretty fun way. I'm not sure why the final sex scene isn't locked behind a fourth song, the rhythm based gameplay definitely left me wanting more.

Overview

The subject matter made me kind of uncomfortable, but that's par for the course when exploring a fetish that isn't for you. On the bright side the characters were visually distinct and the sex positions varied. The final sex scene features a bimbofied angel becoming a total cumdump which is pretty cool too. The rhythm gameplay was a little clunky, but I appreciate the devs trying something a little different rather than making this another match 3 game, or straight up no-gameplay VN. It showed some creativity.

The inclusion of certain fetishes that are a big turn off for me in addition to the relatively little gameplay and sparse sex scenes (a gallery with only 4 options??) puts SaiIn Rhythm firmly in the neutral zone for me. I don't think I'll play it again and 12 dollars is definitely a little pricey for what you get.

Additional Things of Note:

The angel character's name is Yuel but they misspell it as Jewel in her sex scene. Or maybe her name is Jewel and it's spelled wrong in all the other scenes? Who's to say?
